Art Education Advocacy

Art education is more than our children scribbling on a piece of paper or just having fun in the art room. The things they learn in the art will carry with them throughout their lives, often in ways that may surprise us all. Art provides necessary skills such as creative problem solving which has become one of the most valuable assets not only to higher education institutions but also to the future careers that our students are dreaming of. Though these skills are seen as essential in higher education and in the job markets of today art programs are still the most likely to be cut when schools are meeting the bottom line. The advocacy for art education is a battle we as art educator wage every day but we can not always do it alone. If you are interested in further aiding in the fight to protect our children’s right to express themselves and learn these necessary skills I have linked some resources for you and your children to further look into.
